Our primary focus today will be Montmartre hill, an 18th arrondissement in Paris. Still, before going there, we recommend passing by a few wonderful places to warm your eyes for another day of beauty!

The first place is the royal palace of Paris, a.k.a Palais-Royal! Quite an underrated place, despite being so vast. Built & created by Cardinal Richelieu around 1633, the Palais Royal and its gardens with contemporary sculptures exude prestige, luxury, and a peaceful ambiance.

Famous for its breathtaking 3,300-year-old Egyptian obelisk, this major public square is one of the most outstanding in Paris. Infused with history, vast spaces, and monumental decor, it’s a place not to miss while walking to Montmartre!

Here you’ll find two iconic fountains, luxury hotels, and historic architecture that dates hundreds of years. Grab a drink and walk around the square to admire its details that had been re-designed by Jacques-Ignace Hittorf in 1836.

And the lovely riverside views are certainly a bonus!

The third place on the way to Montmartre is Palais Garnier – an opera constructed in what Charles Garnier (1825–1898) described as Napoleon III style! This unique opera house includes elements from the Baroque, the classicism of Palladio, and Renaissance architecture blended and mixed with modern techniques and materials. Admire it from the outside, look into the details, and appreciate the masterpiece before going inside, which we recommend doing!
