While the UK certainly has impressive large cities, it is perhaps best known for its lovely countryside and abundance of castles. Stroll around Stonehenge and take in the rich history of a place used for ancient ceremonies.

Drink at Local Pubs

One thing British people love is to go down to the pub, and there are plenty to choose from. Immerse yourself in British culture with some fish and chips, and a pint of ale. The Churchill Arms in Kensington is a lovely pub for those who like flowers. The Adam and Eve pub in Norwich is thought to date back to the 16th century. The Seven Stars Inn, in Robertsbridge, was built in the 14th century and is also said to be haunted. If you’re interested in records, visit The Horse Shoe Bar in Glasgow, which is said to have the longest bar in Britain, at 104 feet. The Crown Liquor Saloon, in Belfast, is one of Northern Ireland’s most well-known pubs.

Get Lost in Beautiful Gardens

Gardening is a serious business in the United Kingdom. The lush gardens are truly a sight to behold in the spring and summer. The Savill Garden in Egham is gorgeous, filled with colorful flowers and blooming trees. The UK is also particularly famous for its landscape gardens, such as the Cliveden Gardens, in Maidenhead. It features many formal gardens and acres of woodland, including a unique Japanese water garden. In Wales, the Bodnant Gardens, in Colwyn Bay, is home to plants from around the globe. It’s famous for its Laburnum arch, flowering in May and June. There are numerous tours and websites dedicated to just exploring the beautiful gardens that the UK has to offer. Poke around a bit and add some lovely gardens to your itinerary. You’ll be glad you did.

One Kingdom, Many Capitals

The United Kingdom is made of several countries, and each one has its own capital to explore. London is the primary capital of the kingdom, and it has an amazing array of things to do and explore. Take a ride on the famous landmark – the London Eye. There are numerous royal residences available to the public for a tour, including Buckingham Palace and Hampton Court Palace. The British Museum is home to ancient Egyptian mummies and other priceless artifacts. Take a tour of the historical landmarks, such as the spooky Tower of London and historic Greenwich. There’s so much to do in the beautiful, historic city.
