War Has Destroyed the Ukraine's Tourism Industry

As European tourism has started its path towards recovery following the devastating impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the sector is now facing a major crisis with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The conflict might cause another setback in the recovery of European tourism, particularly in Eastern European destinations. But more devastating is the impact of the war on Ukraine’s tourism industry which was on a long road to rehabilitation following years of conflict in the east of the country.
