Even if you are not a wildlife enthusiast, Kenya vies for the trip of a lifetime because of its unique wildlife, color at every turn, and the lovely beaches and warm water of its Indian Ocean coastline. Nairobi is the usual airport for entry by international travelers, and there is even a national park within the city limits. However, it is time to move on.
Tsavo East and West, and Amboseli combined with days at the beach provide a great holiday with plenty of variety. However, the Masai Mara is the top national park with the chance to see Africa’s ‘’Big Five’’, lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. In addition, there is the migration of wildebeest, and zebra to see at specific times of the year.
If your love is primarily wildlife, head north to remote Samburu before seeing the flamingos at Nakuru, a great park on the edge of Nakuru City, and Naivasha where you can take to the lake’s waters. The Masai Mara provides a great finish to your safari, and then you still have time to fly to the coast. Relax on the lovely beaches or even go big game fishing for marlin or swordfish. Can you really say that this does not qualify as the trip of a lifetime?
